Investigations concerning Pleistocene and Holocene fluvial morphodynamic were carried out on a small alluvial fan of the Hellbach, a little river at the northern margin of the Harz Mountains (Northern Germany). Several exposures done during road constructions and archeological excavations are up to 100 m in length. Different Holocene sediments are on top of a Pleistocene gravel fan.
