Light radiation striking a vegetative canopy interacts with individual phyto-elements (i.e., leaves, stems, branches) and the underlying substrate. The interaction depends on light quality, radiative form (direct or diffuse), illumination incidence angle, vegetative component optical properties and canopy architecture.
