In this project we investigate if the state-of-the-art method of Topology Optimization can be used to improve the efficiency of ammonia synthesis; an operation, that nowadays in fact accounts for 1% of the world’s energy consumption. Any improvement of these kinds of synthesis reactors will result in significant energy reduction and thereby decrease their environmental impact.
