Algae Microculture System

This project develops a micro fluidic system for trapping algae in microchambers. The system comprises chambers, valves with a membrane as lock, and filters to provide a growth medium. Membrane strength, stability, deflection, thickness and filter types is studied. When deflection increases, thickness decreases. An applied pressure in the membrane decreases exponentially with time to a pressure above ambient pressure.
