Water absorption in two-layer masonry systems - properties, profiles and predictions

Non-steady state water transport through two different mortars on lime-sand bricks has been studied to assess the possibilities of predicting moisture conditions in two-layer masonry systems in the super-hygroscopic range. Overlapping sorption and suction curves were determined by sorption balances and suction plates for the three materials.
