The hematopoietic cell-specific transcription factor Ikaros functions as a key regulator of lymphocyte differentiation and a tumor suppressor in T cells. The Ikaros gene encodes a zinc-finger transcription factor required during early lymphocyte development. We study Ikaros function in lymphocyte cell lineage using mice bearing a hypomorphic mutation in the ikzf1 (Ikaros) locus (IkL/L).
