1 Related Work
Caenorhabditis elegans is a widely used invertebrate model organism. We are using C. elegans to dissect the molecular basis of host-pathogen interactions. We are investigating host innate immune defences. There is mounting evidence that resistance to infection in the nematode involves both a dedicated antimicrobial response and a more general reaction to infection-associated cellular stress.
