Mutational activation of Wnt/Myc and RAS signaling promotes colorectal cancer (CRC) development and deregulates translation. Phosphorylation of the cap binding protein eIF4E (Serine 209) is commonly elevated in cancer such as CRC yet dispensable for normal development.
