Complete Mass and Enthalpy Balances of Biomass Pyrolysis at High Reactor Temperature

This paper describes mass and enthalpy balances for wood chips pyrolysis experiments performed in a tubular reactor at high reactor wall temperature (700-1000 °C), with quantified solid heating rates (20-40 °C s-1) and gas-phase thermal severity. These pyrolysis conditions are closed to ones occurring in a dual fluidized bed gasifier with a particle thickness of around 5mm.
