Grey alder (Alnus incana (L.) Moench) wood was chosen for research. Carbonization (slow pyrolysis) of modified grey alder wood pellets is a standard pretreatment method for physical activation to obtain valuable high­quality granular activated carbon for cleaning of gaseous emissions.
