The paper presents the quantification of GHG emissions from biofuel production in Spain from raw materials cultivation up to biofuel final distribution. Raw materials considered are wheat, barley and sorghum for bioethanol production and rapeseed, sunflower and cardoon for biodiesel production. Cultivation stages are quantified taking into account the regional differences in yields and farming inputs in the Spanish areas classified as level 2 in the nomenclature of territorial units for statistics (“NUTS2”).
