Characteristics of Ashes from Two Portuguese Biomass Co-Generation Plants

The main power plants and co-generation plants existing in Portugal using biomass as fuel and the national strategy for electricity production from biomass are discussed. The biomass fuel used and the ashes produced in two co-generation plants (grate and fluidized bed) were characterized.
