The increasing use of biomass as energy source for renewable energy poses questions regarding the sustainability of the so­called biofuels. Nutrients present in biofuels are in many countries currently scarcely recycled as new nutrients for biomass. Common practice is to reuse them in construction materials or dispose them on landfills.
