A continuous steam explosion plant (300 kg/h) was utilized to pretreat wheat straw, the experimental design has been used to identify the best SE conditions (time and temperature) to maximize carbohydrates recovery and enzymatic hydrolysis, meanwhile keeping at low level the biomass degradation and inhibitors formation.
