A Five Step Pyrolysis Mechanism for Wood Burning Models

The pyrolysis of beech wood was investigated by thermogravimetry and the results were interpreted using a well known three step model from the literature and a newly developed five step model. The three step model describes the wood pyrolysis as superposition of the decompositions of cellulose, hemicellulose and lignin.
