Autohydrolysis Modified Barley Straw as Low Cost Adsorbent for Oil Spill Cleaning

The present work deals with the modification of lignocellulosic residues to obtain low cost adsorbents for diminishing an oil-products spill in seawater. The adsorbent (barley straw) was pretreated by autohydrolysis, without using any catalyst or organic solvent, in a PARR autoclave at 160-240 oC for 0-50 min.
