Biomass, that is carbon neutral and a renewable resource, becomes attractive after thedecision of Biomass¬Nippon strategy in Japan. Especially, bioethanol as transportationliquid fuel from biomass is attractive in the world. However, food price is increased by theattractiveness because sugar and/or starch are used as feedstock for bio¬ethanol.
