This paper addresses the strategic design of the biomass­for­bioenergy (B4B) supply chain with a view to optimise energetic, economical or environmental criteria. This B4B supply chain consists of six key operations: biomass production, harvest, collection, pre­treatment, storage and conversion to bioenergy.
