The triploid hybrid Miscanthus x giganteus Greef et Deu is one of the most studied species dedicated for lignocellulosic biomass production with bioenergy aims. The Miscanthus crop is established by planting mechanically divided rhizomes or plantlets micropropagated in tissue culture.
