Interesterification of Vegetable Oils with Methyl or Ethyl Acetate Catalysed by Tin Compounds

The interesterification of rapeseed oil was performed in a batch reactor changing the reaction temperature in the interval 120-210 °C and using several tin (II) compounds as catalysts and methyl or ethyl acetate as acyl acceptors. The yields in esters and triacetin increased with the reaction temperature.
