Ag/TiO2 and Pt/TiO2 catalysts were active for combustion of soot above 500 °C and for soluble organic fraction (SOF) below 200 °C, respectively. Sensing characteristics of catalytic combustion-type sensors coated with these catalysts against diesel particulate matter (PM), especially selective sensing of soluble organic fraction (SOF) and soot, were evaluated by the programmed heating of the PM-loaded sensing elements.
