P2.4.15 A Miniaturized Catalytic Gas Sensor with Functionalized Nanoparticles as Catalytic Layer

This paper presents a miniaturized catalytic gas sensor for hydrogen detection based on functionalized platinum nanoparticles as catalytic layer. Due to the high surface of nanoparticles, the sensitivity of the catalytic layer is increased while the amount of material is decreased. Lower gas concentrations should be measurable. Furthermore, the nanoparticles are enclosed by a ligand shell, which provides a higher stability than nanoparticles without stabilization, because of better adhesion to the substrate and less agglomeration....
