This paper presents the simulation and optimization of the magnet system of an electromagnetic flow meter. The boundary element method (BEM) is used to solve the corresponding 3D magnetostatic Maxwell equations. A Fredholm integral equation of the second kind for the “microscopic” current on the surface of the paramagnetic pole shoes of the magnet system is derived.
