In this paper we present a method of cavitation detection with miniaturised pressure transducers in rotodynamic pumps. The process is part of a sensor system for pumps and make it possible to detect the operational mode. Cavitation generates surges which are directed by the fluid to the ambiend pipes and casings and hit them. The vibrations at the surface can be measured by accelerators.
