Measurements of g-factors of isomeric states in fission fragments

The inherent alignment of the fragments from spontaneous fission of /sup 252/Cf was used to measure the sign and magnitude of g-factors of isomeric states by the time differential perturbed angular correlation method. The result for the 6/sup +/ isomeric state of /sup 135/Te, composed predominantly of two protons in a (g/sub 7/2/)/sup 2/ configuration coupled to a double magic core, is g=+0.846+or-0.025.
