Emission-rich heavy long-haulage is a main lever for Germany to achieve its ambitious CO2 targets, in particular the alternative technologies catenary-hybrid and fuel cell are considered promising options. This article covers technical characteristics, infrastructure requirements and adoption of new technologies in the market.
