This study proposes an algorithm to distribute drive/braking torque to front/rear motors to optimize energy consumption. The target vehicle is a dual motor driven EV with two motors on the front/rear axles. The optimum distribution ratio for the front torque is calculated using a pre-calculated 2D-Map optimized offline with inputs including the longitudinal vehicle velocity and required torque.
