California’s zero-emission vehicle (ZEV) market represents about half of the United States’ ZEV market. California’s success may be attributed primarily to the state’s strong climate and air quality policies, the ZEV regulation, bold leadership by California governors and the Legislature, and dedicated funding for expanding ZEV infrastructure, consumer incentives and supporting policies.
