The programme of archaeological works identified well preserved structures and a largely intact floor of the foundry. Though little was surviving of the internal workings of the Victorian Iron foundry due to the constant adaptations it went under through the years, the main 1860s structure survived with the pillar bases of cast iron stanchions and the western and northern front wall intact.
