Land at Falmouth, Cornwall Archaeological Evaluation (cotswold2-315797)

In October 2017, Cotswold Archaeology carried out an archaeological evaluation of land at Falmouth, Cornwall. The evaluation identified a series of ditches, pits and postholes in the central, southern and western areas of the site. Artefactual material was scarce and could not generally be closely dated, but a one trench contained a concentration of pits/postholes and a possible hearth which have tentatively been interpreted as the remains of one or more prehistoric roundhouses.
