British soldiers on armoured vehicle

University Of Oxford First World War Poetry Digital Archive
Rather more soldiers than vehicle in this photograph! Editor's Comment: Photograph appears to be of an Austin Armoured Car, employed in the Anglo-Irish war. Two of the men pictured (sitting, front right and front left) wear the 1918 pattern Other Ranks Royal Air Force tunic, which was not generally issued until 1919. None of the men are wearing helmets, but most sport the Service Dress cap, which again suggests home service.
