Turkish Artillery Instrument, in box made for Lt. Froud (8)

The attached photographs are of a Turkish Rangefinder which belonged to a Lieutenant Robert Froud. The box was carved by his bat man whilst in the trenches during the war. Bob Froud was from Seaham Harbour in Co.Durham and after the war he returned and lived with my grandparents. He gave this and his baton (which I also still have) to my father when he was a child.
