Osteoarthritis (OA) is characterized by apoptosis of chondrocytes and an imbalance of extracellular matrix (ECM) synthesis and catabolism. Emerging evidence has demonstrated that miRNAs are involved in OA pathologies, but the role of miR-296-5p in OA remains unclear.
