COMPARATIVE STUDY OF THE PHYTOCHEMICAL AND ANTIBACTERIAL PROPERTIES OF TWO DIFFERENT VARIETIES OF Dioscorea bulbifera TUBERS

The phytochemical composition and the antibacterial potential of two different varieties (edible and wild types) of Dioscorea bulbifera tubers were determined using standard microbiological and physico-chemical methods. Extraction of bioactive compounds of the samples was done using aqueous, ethanol and methanol solvents.
