Bimetallic Pt/Ag nanoparticles (Pt/Ag NPs) were synthesized using 3-hydroxyphenyl-boronic acid as the reducing and stabilizing agent by a simple, one-step hydrothermal method. The bimetallic Pt/Ag NPs were demonstrated to possess intrinsic peroxidase mimetic catalytic activity for the luminol/H2O2 reaction to generate chemiluminescence (CL).
