Background: Monoclonal adrenal cortical lesions show inverse correlation between proliferation and apoptosis, while proliferation is the single most important criterion of malignancy in adrenal lesions. No study evaluates the variability of proliferation regarding the clonal pattern and diagnosis in adrenal cortical nodular hyperplasias (ACNH), adenomas (ACA), and carcinomas (ACC).
