Temporal pole responds to subtle changes in local thyroid hormone signaling
Antonio Bianco, Marcelino Cicera, McAninch Elizabeth, Gustavo Fernandes, Barbara Bocco & Miriam Ribeiro
To study thyroid hormone (TH) signaling in the human brain, we analyzed published microarray data sets of the temporal pole (Brodmann area 38) of 19 deceased donors. An index of TH signaling built on the expression of 19 well known TH-responsive genes in mouse brains (T3S+) varied from 0.92 to 1.1. After Factor analysis, T3S+ correlated independently with the expression of TH transporters (MCT8, LAT2), TH receptor (TR) beta and TR coregulators (CARM1, MED1, KAT2B,...
ONLINE AGNOSTIC RECOMMENDATION SYSTEM FOR APPLICATION IN INVESTMENT FUNDS
Antonio Newton Licciardi
Considering the reduction on basic interest rate in Brazil, the bonus payments obtained through “caderneta de poupança” (a popular and traditional brazilian special type of account which total value is correct by inflantion index and standard low taxes, basically), which is the most used investment in the country, hade been becoming deficitary. This fact has led to a growth in the number of individuals investing in the stock market looking for more attractive profitability. The...
Graphene interlayer for improving charge transfer process and protection of perovskite-based solar cells
Lucia Saito
Halide perovskites are promising semiconductor materials for a wide range of applications in optoelectronics. Perovskites have been used to design solar cells, light-emitting diodes, photodetectors, and lasers. However, the instability of perovskite organometallic halide has been described as the biggest challenge to its potential applications for energy harvesting. Recent developments demonstrated the use of graphene for perovskite solar cells as a transparent (and flexible) conductive electrode, a carrier transporting material, and a stabilizer material. The...
Materiais de Alta Entropia Inteligíveis: Desenvolvendo Modelos, Dados e Aplicações
Leandro Seixas Rocha

Abstract The slippery slope framework explains tax compliance along two main dimensions, trust in authorities and power of authorities, which influence taxpayers’ compliance attitudes. Through frequentist and Bayesian analyses, we investigated the framework’s assumptions on a sample of 2786 self-employed taxpayers from eleven post-communist and non-post-communist countries doing business in five economic branches. After using scenarios that experimentally manipulated trust and power, our results confirmed the framework’s assumptions regarding the attitudes of the self-employed taxpayers;...
