Smart phase transformation system based on lyotropic liquid crystalline@hard capsules for sustained release of hydrophilic and hydrophobic drugs

Xuejuan Zhang, Yujun Xiao, Zhengwei Huang, Jintian Chen, Yingtong Cui, Boyi Niu, Ying Huang, Xin Pan & Chuanbin Wu
Smart phase transformation systems@hard capsule (SPTS@hard capsule) based on lyotropic liquid crystalline (LLC) were developed for oral sustained release in this study. Doxycycline hydrochloride (DOXY) and meloxicam (MLX) were used as hydrophilic and hydrophobic model drug, respectively. Two systems were added with different additives, that is, gelucire 39/01, PEG 1000 and Tween 80 to adjust their melting point and release profiles. The phase transformation of these systems could be triggered by water as well as...

Clinical significance and potential molecular mechanism of miRNA-222-3p in metastatic prostate cancer

Yu Sun, Gang Chen, Juan He, Zhi-Guang Huang, Sheng-Hua Li, Yuan-Ping Yang, Lu-Yang Zhong, Shu-Fan Ji, Ying Huang, Xin-Hua Chen, Mao-Lin He & Hao Wu
The clinical significance and underlying molecular mechanism of miRNA-222-3p in metastatic prostate cancer (MPCa) remain unclear. The present study used a large number of cases (n = 1,502) based on miRNA chip and miRNA sequencing datasets to evaluate the expression and diagnostic potential of miRNA-222-3p in MPCa. We applied a variety of meta-analytic methods, including forest maps, sensitivity analysis, subgroup analysis and summary receiver operating characteristic curves, to prove the final results. MiRNA-222-3p was reduced...

Photoelectrochemical Immunosensor Based on ZnIn2S4/Bi2Se3 Nanocomposite for the Determination of Cardiac Troponin I

Wanxin Dong, Xinxin Mo, Yu Wang, Qin Lei & He Li
In this work, a novel flexible photoelectrochemical immunosensor is developed to determine cardiac troponin I (cTnI) in serum. The flower-like ZnIn2S4 nanospheres (ZIS), as signal amplification material, were successfully synthesized by a solvothermal method. The ZIS and Bi2Se3 were modified on the indium tin oxide- polyethylene terephthalate (ITO-PET) electrode, which effectively accelerates the electronic transition and improved the photocurrent conversion efficiency (signal on). However, the binding of antigen–antibody proteins blocks the electron transfer, resulting in...
