Abstract Hetrombopag, a small molecular thrombopoietin-receptor agonist, has shown encouraging efficiency in immunosuppressive therapy refractory or relapsed severe aplastic anaemia. To investigate the response rate of hetrombopag combined with IST as first-line treatment, we designed a prospective pilot study including 32 patients with SAA treated with anti-human T lymphocyte porcine immunoglobulin (p-ATG), cyclosporine, and hetrombopag. In addition, 96 patients with SAA treated with p-ATG and cyclosporine alone were matched as controls. In total, 21.9% of...

Abstract Chemodynamic therapy of cancer is limited by insufficient endogenous H2O2 generation and acidity in the tumor microenvironment (TME). Herein, we developed a biodegradable theranostic platform (pLMOFePt-TGO) involving composite of dendritic organosilica and FePt alloy, loaded with tamoxifen (TAM) and glucose oxidase (GOx), and encapsulated by platelet-derived growth factor-B (PDGFB)-labeled liposomes, that effectively uses the synergy among chemotherapy, enhanced chemodynamic therapy (CDT), and anti-angiogenesis. The increased concentration of glutathione (GSH) present in the cancer cells...

Eating habit of adding salt to foods and incident sleep apnea: a prospective cohort study
Tingting Li, Lin Song, Guang Li, Fengping Li, Xiaoge Wang, Liangkai Chen, Shuang Rong & Li Zhang
Abstract Background Previous studies have revealed that sodium-restricted diet intervention significantly decreased apnea frequency among patients with sleep apnea. However, the longitudinal association between the habit of adding salt to foods and sleep apnea in general populations is uncertain. Methods The UK Biobank cohort study includes more than 500,000 participants aged 40 to 69 across the United Kingdom from 2006 to 2010. The frequency of adding salt to foods was collected through a touch screen...

Erxian herbal pair enhances bone formation in infected bone nonunion models and attenuates lipopolysaccharide-induced osteoblastinhibition by regulating miRNA-34a-5p

Bacterium-induced inflammatory responses cause bone nonunion. Although antibiotics suppress infection, bone loss after antibacterial treatment remains a critical challenge. Erxian herbal pair (EHP) has been proven effective in promoting bone formation. Our study aimed to investigate the effect of EHP on bone repair after anti-infection treatment, explore its effect on a lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced osteoblast. We evaluated effects of EHP on bone repair with Micro-CT, and morphology detecting. Chemical constituents of EHP and EHP-containing serum (EHP-CS)...
The bioinformatics analysis of the clinicopathological and prognostic significances of REG4 mRNA in gynecological cancers
Cong-yu Zhang, Li Zhang, Zi-mo Wang, Dong-hui Ren & Hua-chuan Zheng
To clarify the clinicopathological importance of REG4 mRNA expression, we used GEO, TCGA, xiantao, UALCAN, and Kaplan-Meier plotter for a bioinformatics analysis in breast, cervical, endometrial and ovarian cancers. Compared to normal tissues, REG4 expression was found to be upregulated in breast, cervical, endometrial, and ovarian cancers (p < 0.05). Breast cancer had a higher level of REG4 methylation than normal tissues (p < 0.05), which was negatively correlated with its mRNA expression. REG4 expression...

ObjectiveTo describe the real-world deployment of a tool, the Protocol for Responding to and Assessing Patients’ Assets, Risks, and Experiences (PRAPARE), to assess social determinants of health (SDoH) in an electronic medical record (EMR).MethodsWe employed the collection of the PRAPARE tool in the EMR of a large academic health system in the ambulatory clinic and emergency department setting. After integration, we evaluated SDoH prevalence, levels of missingness, and data anomalies to inform ongoing collection. We...
