This study’s aim was to detect NR5A2 expression and explore association between single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) of the NR5A2 gene with reproductive traits in Jiaxing Black (JXB) sows. The expression analysis showed that the expression level of pig NR5A2 mRNA in the ovary and liver was significantly higher (p < 0.01) compared to other tissues. 10 SNPs were detected in the exons of NR5A2, and five SNPs (g.136706A > T, g.84609G > A, g.136759G >...

Two new pyridine derivatives and two new furan derivatives from Irpex lacteus
Qiong Chen, Meng Wang, Xue-Wen Yi, Zheng-Hui Li, Tao Feng & Ji-Kai Liu
Two undescribed disubstituted pyridine derivatives irpexidines A and B (1 and 2) and two undescribed alkylfuran derivatives irpexins K and L (3 and 4) were isolated from fermentation broth of Irpex lacteus. Their structures were established by extensive spectroscopic methods. The pyridine derivatives from this fungus were reported for the first time. The new compounds were evaluated for their cytotoxicity against Hela cancer cell and inhibitory activity on NO production.
Comprehensive analysis of pivotal biomarkers, immune cell infiltration and therapeutic drugs for steroid-induced osteonecrosis of the femoral head
Bo Wang, Song Gong, Wenkai Shao, Lizhi Han, Zilin Li, Zhichao Zhang, Yang Zheng, Fang Ouyang, Yan Ma, Weihua Xu & Yong Feng
Steroid-induced osteonecrosis of the femoral head (SONFH) is a progressive disease that leads to an increased disability rate. This study aimed to ascertain biomarkers, infiltrating immune cells, and therapeutic drugs for SONFH. The gene expression profile of the GSE123568 dataset was downloaded from the Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) database. The differentially expressed genes (DEGs) were identified using the NetworkAnalyst platform. Functional enrichment, protein-protein interaction network (PPI), and module analyses were performed using Metascape tools. An...
Study on the working mechanism of fluid loss additive for chlorination titanium blast furnace slag
Ping Zhou, Yuanpeng Wu, Huiting Liu, Ming Li, Weiyuan Xiao, Meng Liu, Jianzhang Hao, Yanming Li & Chengxin Li
The chlorination titanium blast furnace slag belongs to industrial waste, but after grinding, they can be used to prepare cementing fluids to realize the secondary utilization of solid waste resources. As a common additive, fluid loss additives are mostly used in oil well cement systems, and there is still a lot of room for development when applied to chlorination titanium blast furnace slag systems. In this paper, the AMPS/DN-1/DMC/AA tetramer fluid loss additive was synthesized...

Bioinformatics analysis reveals the competing endogenous RNA (ceRNA) coexpression network in the tumor microenvironment and prognostic biomarkers in soft tissue sarcomas
Dandan Zou, Yang Wang, Meng Wang, Bo Zhao, Fei Hu, Yanguo Li & Bingming Zhang
Soft tissue sarcomas (STSs) are rare, heterogeneous mesenchymal neoplasias. Understanding the tumor microenvironment (TME) and identifying potential biomarkers for prognosis associated with the TME of STS might provide effective clues for immune therapy. We evaluated the immune scores and stromal scores of STS patients by using the RNA sequencing dataset from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) database and the ESTIMATE algorithm. Then, the differentially expressed mRNAs (DEGs), miRNAs (DEMs) and lncRNAs (DELs) were identified after...

Landscape of tissue-specific RNA Editome provides insight into co-regulated and altered gene expression in pigs (Sus-scrofa)

RNA editing generates genetic diversity in mammals by altering amino acid sequences, miRNA targeting site sequences, influencing the stability of targeted RNAs, and causing changes in gene expression. However, the extent to which RNA editing affect gene expression via modifying miRNA binding site remains unexplored. Here, we first profiled the dynamic A-to-I RNA editome across tissues of Duroc and Luchuan pigs. The RNA editing events at the miRNA binding sites were generated. The biological function...

Kinesin family member 3C (KIF3C) is a novel non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) oncogene whose expression is modulated by microRNA-150-5p (miR-150-5p) and microRNA-186-3p (miR-186-3p)
Haiwang Liu, Ran Liu, Meiling Hao, Xing Zhao & Chunhui Li
This study is aimed at investigating the biological function of kinesin family member 3 C (KIF3C) in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) progression and its upstream regulatory mechanism. Quantitative real-time PCR, Western blot and immunohistochemistry were adopted to examine microRNA-150-5p (miR-150-5p), microRNA-186-3p (miR-186-3p) and kinesin family member 3 C (KIF3C) expression levels. NSCLC cell proliferation, migration, and invasion were detected through cell counting kit-8 (CCK-8) assay, EdU assay, and Transwell assay. The metastasis of NSCLC...
