Data and supporting information from: Higher metabolic plasticity in temperate compared to tropical lizards suggests increased resilience to climate change

Baojun Sun, Caroline Williams, Teng Li, John Speakman, Zengguang Jin, Hongliang Lu, Laigao Luo & Weiguo Du
We investigate thermal acclimation of three species of Takydromus lizards distributed along a broad latitudinal gradient in China. The dataset are including metabolic rates, organ size, mitochondrial respiration, Cox activities, proteomic and metabolomic regulations of three Takydromus lizards after warm and cold acclimation in the laboratory. See details in related paper.

Revisiting of Carex sect. Confertiflorae s.l. (Cyperaceae): new data from molecular and morphological evidence and first insights on Carex biogeography in East Asia.

Carex sect. Confertiflorae s.l., contains ca. 40 species and diverse in E Asia. It has one of the most unstable delimitations in the literature, and the section was proposed to split into two sections up to five different ones. Recent phylogenetic reconstructions showed Confertiflorae s.l. not to be monophyletic. In this study we investigate the phylogenetic structure, morphological affinities, and biogeographic history of sect. Confertiflorae s.l. We performed a taxon-based approach to explore the morphological...

Data from: Latitudinal embryonic thermal tolerance and plasticity shape the vulnerability of oviparous species to climate change

Bao-Jun Sun, Liang Ma, Yang Wang, Chun-Rong Mi, Lauren Buckley, Ofir Levy, Hong-Liang Lu & Wei-Guo Du
Heat tolerance at the immobile embryonic stage is expected to be critical in determining species vulnerability to climate change. However, how the mean and developmental plasticity of embryonic heat tolerance vary geographically, and how these geographic variations affect species’ vulnerability under climate change remain unknown. We experimentally determined the mean and developmental plasticity of embryonic acute heat tolerance (EAHT, i.e., heat shock temperature at which embryonic heartbeats ceased) for three latitudinally-distributed populations of an oviparous...
