Peck ranch collared lizard files

Alan Templeton
Eastern collared lizards (Crotophytus collaris collaris) were a Missouri state endangered species when this study began in 1982 due to massive local extinction on glades in the Ozarks in central North America. Translocation coupled with glade restoration was initiated in the 1980’s, including reintroductions starting in 1984 on Stegall Mountain in southern Missouri. The translocated populations underwent three distinct demographic phases: 1) an isolate phase with no net growth in population size, no colonization of...

A SERS-based immunochromatographic assay for ultrasensitive and quantitative detection of florfenicol using long wavelength absorption of Au nanocubes

Ying Liu, Ting Zhou, Penghui Zhou, Hanwen Liu, Jianguo Li & Anping Deng
An immunochromatographic assay (ICA) based on surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) for ultrasensitive and quantitative detection of florfenicol (FF) in food samples was developed. Au nanocubers (AuNCs) with long wavelength absorption were synthesised, characterised and used as the substrate in SERS-ICA. Immunoprobe was prepared by linking Raman reporter and the antibody against FF on AuNCs. The SERS-ICA was completed in 15 min. By measuring the Raman intensities on T lines, quantitative detection of FF was achieved....

Abstract Background To compare the efficacy and safety of follitropin delta in its individualized fixed-dose regimen with follitropin alfa in a conventional adjustable dosing regimen in Chinese women. Methods This was a subgroup analysis of the randomized, multi-center, assessor-blind, non-inferiority trial (GRAPE) including 759 Chinese women (aged 20–40 years) recruited in 16 reproductive medicine clinics in China. Women were randomized in a 1:1 ratio to be treated with either follitropin delta dose based on anti-Müllerian...

Cross-cultural adaptation, reliability, and validity of the Chinese version of the Acceptance and Action Questionnaire-Adult Hearing Loss

Ying Yang, Yulu Liu, Yanan Xiao, Lianchi Zhang, Yan Li, Hong Zhu & Jin Bian
Few mental health assessment tools are available for people with hearing loss (HL) in China. The Acceptance and Action Questionnaire-Adult Hearing Loss (AAQ-AHL) has been specifically designed to assess psychological inflexibility in adults with HL and may help assess mental health status promptly for targeted psychological interventions. The study aimed to investigate the cross-cultural validity and reliability of the Chinese version of the AAQ-AHL to assess its applicability to teenagers and adults with HL in...

Angiopoietin-like protein 8, molecular cloning and regulating lipid accumulation in goat intramuscular preadipocytes

Wei Huang, Yaqiu Lin, Hua Xiang, Jiangjiang Zhu & Yong Wang
This study aimed to clone the full-length open reading frame (ORF) of goat ANGPTL8 gene sequence, reveal its molecular and expression characteristics, and explore its effect on the differentiation of goat intramuscular preadipocytes. The full-length ORF sequence of goat ANGPTL8 gene was cloned by RT-PCR technology, and bioinformatics analysis was performed by related biological software. RT-qPCR was used to detect the expression of ANGPTL8 mRNA in goat tissues. Further use of RNA interference to study...

The prognostic value of early measures of the ventilatory ratio in the ARDS ROSE trial

Ana Carolina Costa Monteiro, Sitaram Vangala, Katherine D. Wick, Kevin L. Delucchi, Emily R. Siegel, B. Taylor Thompson, Kathleen D. Liu, Anil Sapru, Pratik Sinha & Michael A. Matthay
Abstract Background The ventilatory ratio (VR, [minute ventilation × PaCO2]/[predicted body weight × 100 × 37.5]) is associated with mortality in ARDS. The aims of this study were to test whether baseline disease severity or neuromuscular blockade (NMB) modified the relationship between VR and mortality. Methods This was a post hoc analysis of the PETAL-ROSE trial, which randomized moderate-to-severe ARDS patients to NMB or control. Survival among patients with different VR trajectories or VR cutoff...

Hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome caused by destruction of residential area of rodent in a construction site: epidemiological investigation

Xiao Wei, Biao Meng, Hong Peng, Yan Li, Min Liu, Hairui Si, Rui Wu, Hailong Chen, Ying Bai, Qunling Feng, Changjun Wang & Xiangna Zhao
Abstract Background An outbreak of hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome (HFRS), caused by a Hantavirus, affected nine adult males in the southwest area of Xi’an in November 2020 was analyzed in this study. Methods Clinical and epidemiological data of HFRS patients in this outbreak were retrospectively analyzed. The whole genome of a hantavirus named 201120HV03xa (hv03xa for short) isolated from Apodemus agrarius captured in the construction site was sequenced and analyzed. In addition, nine HFRS...
