Thermosphere-Ionosphere Modeling with Forecastable Inputs: Case Study of the June 2012 High Speed Stream Geomagnetic StormXing Meng
This is the companion dataset for the Journal paper ”Thermosphere-Ionosphere Modeling With Forecastable Inputs: Case Study of the June 2012 High Speed Stream Geomagnetic Storm” (under review). The dataset contains raw outputs from a global ionosphere-thermosphere model for a geomagnetic storm events. The outputs are in IDL binary format, containing the model solution of the total electron content, the magnetic field, density, velocity, and temperature for neutral and ion species. The outputs are analyzed in...
We derive surface ice velocity using data from 16 satellite sensors deployed by 6 different space agencies. The list of sensors and the year that they were used are listed in the following (Table S1). The SAR data are processed from raw to single look complex using the GAMMA processor (www.gamma-rs.ch). All measurements rely on consecutive images where the ice displacement is estimated from tracking or interferometry (Joughin et al. 1998, Michel and Rignot 1999,...
High-latitude Input for Meso-scale Electrodynamics: HIME, is a new framework that is developed to account for the local meso-scale electric field variability in a global I-T model, so that their role during certain intervals and locations can be analyzed. This data set consists of local 2D electric field estimates from PFISR (provided in 20170302.002_lp_1min-cal_2dVEF_001001_NoLonely-geo600km.h5), and HIME generated drivers. These drivers were generated by first calculating the electric potentials with Forward Euler formula from PFISR estimates...
We divide Greenland, including its peripheral glaciers and ice caps, into 260 basins grouped in seven regions: southwest (SW), central west (CW), (iii) northwest (NW), north (NO), northeast (NE), central east (CE), and southeast (SE). These regions are selected based on ice flow regimes, climate, and the need to partition the ice sheet into zones comparable in size (200,000 km2 to 400,000 km2) and ice production (50 Gt/y to 100 Gt/y, or billion tons per...

Grounding line, elevation changes, and melt rates maps of Denman Glacier, East Antarctica. Using satellite radar interferometry from the COSMO-SkyMed mission we map the grounding line of Denman Glacier, East Antarctica. We complement these data with some historical interferometric radar acquisition from the European satellite ERS-1/2. We present new maps of elevation changes on the grounded and floating portions of Denman Glacier obtained by temporally differencing TanDEM-X Digital Elevation Models.
The auxiliary information associated with "Widespread Shallow Water Ice on Mars at High and Mid Latitudes" by Piqueux et al. consists of a set of 2 maps (d_m.ascii and TI_SI.ascii) and 2 coordinate files (Lon.ascii and Lat.ascii). - d_m.ascii (720 x 360): Depth to the top of the water ice table, in meter - TI_SI.ascii (720 x 360): Upper (dry) regolith thermal inertia, in J m^2 K-1 s^-1/2 These maps are projected on a simple...
This file is a movie of Jupiter's northern hemisphere during the Cassini approach, October - December, 2000. It is composed of a time sequence of frames in the UV1 filter, effective wavelength 258 nm. Each frame is a mosaic from six or more images mapped to a projection with the north pole at the center and the radial distance proportional to cosine(latitude). In the second half of the movie the 60-degree latitude circle is shown,...
We provide a climatology of airborne dust for Martian year 34 using observations of the Martian atmosphere from May 2016 to March 2018 made by the Mars Climate Sounder (MCS) aboard Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter (MRO). Our methodology works by gridding the available estimates of column dust optical depth (CDOD) from MCS limb observations. The resulting (irregularly) gridded maps were validated with independent observations of CDOD by the Mars Color Imager camera aboard MRO, and by...
Complete map of ice motion in Antarctica combining phase data in the interior and speckle tracking in the fast-moving sectors. We present a new map of Antarctic ice velocity that is ten times more precise than prior maps and reveals ice motion at a high precision over 80% of the continent versus 20% in the past. The ice motion vector map provides novel constrains on interior ice motion and its connection with the glaciers and...
