Downward Shortwave Irradiance at the Thule High Arctic Atmospheric Observatory (THAAO_DSI)

Daniela Meloni, Alcide Di Sarra, Tatiana Di Iorio, Giandomenico Pace, Giovanni Muscari, Antonio Iaccarino & Filippo Calì Quaglia
Measurements of downward shortwave (SW) and longwave (LW) irradiances started in 2009 with the installation of one pyranometer and one pyrgeometer on the roof of building 1971 (about 5 m agl). Different models of instruments have been operated: Eppley PSP and Kipp&Zonen CMP21 pyranometers for SW irradiance, and Eppley PIR and Kipp&Zonen CGR4 pyrgeometers for LW irradiance. See https://www.thuleatmos-it.it/instruments/radiometers for additional details. Radiometers are ventilated to prevent ice/dew formation on their domes. Data are recorded...

Upward Shortwave Irradiance at the Thule High Arctic Atmospheric Observatory (THAAO_USI)

Daniela Meloni, Alcide Di Sarra, Tatiana Di Iorio, Giandomenico Pace, Giovanni Muscari, Antonio Iaccarino & Filippo Calì Quaglia
Downward-looking radiometers have been installed on July 2016 to collect the upward component of the SW and LW irradiances. Eppley PSP pyranometer and PIR pyrgeometer are located about 100 m West of THAAO on a metal frame at about 2.3 m agl. Electronic levels monitor any possible deviation from the horizontal in the North-South and Est-West directions. See https://www.thuleatmos-it.it/instruments/radiometers for additional details. Radiometers are not ventilated. Data are recorded with a 30 second time step...
