4-((5-(1-(4-Fluorophenyl)-5-methyl-1H-1,2,3-triazol-4-yl)-1,3,4-thiadiazol-2-yl)amino)benzenesulfonic acid: unexpected synthesis, structure elucidation and antimicrobial activity

Unexpected ring closure of 2-(1-(4-fluorophenyl)-5-methyl-1H-1,2,3-triazole-4-carbonyl)-N-phenylhydrazine-1-carbothioamide (3) on exposure to sulfuric acid at room temperature for an extended duration (12 h) gave 4-((5-(1-(4-fluorophenyl)-5-methyl-1H-1,2,3-triazol-4-yl)-1,3,4-thiadiazol-2-yl)amino)benzenesulfonic acid (4) in 75% yield. The use of sulfuric acid led to sulfonation at the para-position of the benzene ring in phenyl isothiocyanate. The crystal structure comprises two independent types of molecules of 4 and two disordered ether solvent molecules. The synthesized benzenesulfonic acid inhibits the growth of both Listeria monocytogenes and Escherichia...

In recent times, controlling agricultural diseases and pests using chemical pesticides is broadly applied and is considered effective but it is not considered as eco-friendly. For pest control, biological ways have been considered sustainable and safe. As bio-control agents, the Bacillus species exhibit a large spectrum of biological activity. The application of Bacillus subtilis as a potential bio-control agent against the lepidopteran pest, the rice leaffolder, Cnaphalocrocis medinalis is the focus of our study. The...

Abstract Background Data available support that ninety percent of male infertility cases are due to low sperm counts. There is a scarcity of data on the medicinal effects of cannabis on fertility. This study evaluated testicular function and sperm quality modulation with cannabis in rats. Methodology Twenty-five male Wistar rats were randomly grouped into five: A, B, C, and D, each group have 5 rats. A (control): 0.2 ml 2% DMSO, B (vitamin C): 90...
