Locating a National Collection project website
Stephen Gadd, Rainer Simon, Gethin Rees & Leif Isaksen
Project website for the Locating a National Collection (LaNC) project that houses instances of LaNC’s Peripleo maps interface alongside descriptive text (https://github.com/britishlibrary/locating-a-national-collection). The website was built using Joe Padfield’s simple-site, many thanks to him (https://github.com/jpadfield/simple-site). LaNC was a Foundation project within the AHRC-funded Towards a National Collection Programme.

Peripleo is a prototype application for the discovery and spatial visualisation of collection data, originally an initiative of the Pelagios Network and developed early in 2022 as part of the British Library's Locating a National Collection project (LaNC). LaNC was a Foundation project within the AHRC-funded Towards a National Collection Programme. The main development code (https://github.com/britishlibrary/peripleo-lanc) can be found here alongside the template for producing your own version (https://github.com/britishlibrary/peripleo). The development code contains several of...
Data from: Allele discovery of ten candidate drought-response genes in Austrian oak using a systematically informatics approach based on 454 amplicon sequencing
Andreas Homolka, Thomas Eder, Dieter Kopecky, Maria Berenyi, Kornel Burg & Silvia Fluch
BACKGROUND: Rise of temperatures and shortening of available water as result of predicted climate change will impose significant pressure on long-lived forest tree species. Discovering allelic variation present in drought related genes of two Austrian oak species can be the key to understand mechanisms of natural selection and provide forestry with key tools to cope with future challenges. RESULTS: In the present study we have used Roche 454 sequencing and developed a bioinformatic pipeline to...
Comparison of Codes Assessing Radiation Exposure of Aircraft Crew due to Galactic Cosmic Radiation

Abstract: The aim of this report is to compare the doses and dose rates calculatedby various codes assessing radiation exposure of aircraft crew due to cosmic radiation. Some of the codes are used routinely for radiation protection purposes while others are purely for scientific use. The calculations were done using a set of representative, real flight routes around the globe.
The results are presented in an anonymous way. This comparison is of major importance since...
