Measurements of Pressure (P, in kPa), Temperature (T, in °C), and Relative Humidity (RH, in %) carried out by means of a Campbell meteorological station installed at the Thule High Arctic Atmospheric Observatory, near Thule Air Base (76.5°N, 68.8°W; 220m amsl), Greenland, in July 2016. The meteorological station is installed at 4 m above ground. Data are recorded at 10 minutes intervals and stored as ASCII textfiles.

VMO - The Sound of St Mark's - Introduction Collection

Luigi Collarile & David Douglas Bryant
This introduction to the study of the 17th- and 18th-century choirbooks of the ducal chapel of St Mark’s, Venice, examines the general and material history of the choirbooks and their transmission to modern times, together with their relation to the ceremonial and liturgical soundscape of the ducal chapel (both before and after the reform enacted by Baldassare Galuppi in 1765). It also discusses specific problems of attribution (with regard to composers and copyists).

Downward Shortwave Irradiance at the Thule High Arctic Atmospheric Observatory during MACMAP (THAAO_DSI_MACMAP)

Daniela Meloni, Alcide Di Sarra, Tatiana Di Iorio, Giandomenico Pace, Giovanni Muscari, Antonio Iaccarino & Filippo Calì Quaglia
Measurements of downward shortwave (SW) and longwave (LW) irradiance are collected by Kipp&Zonen CMP21 pyranometer and CGR4 pyrgeometer, respectively, installed on the roof of building 1971. Both sensors are ventilated to prevent ice formation on their domes. Data are recorded at 1 minute time step. Corrections are applied to measurements in order to take into account the dependance of the radiometers’ sensitivity on temperature and the change in time. The small pyranometer's thermal offset is...

Interview with João Fiadeiro by Alice Godfroy

João Fiadeiro & Alice Godfroy
This interview tracks the notion of memory along a life trajectory that could make a person believe, too hastily, its irrelevance within it. Dancer, choreographer, researcher, curator, teacher, JOÃO FIADEIRO has crossed a wide spectrum of practices which, from jazz to neoclassical ballet and post-modern dance, molded his need to improvise and explore the territories of the present. The ethic of being in the present leads him to reverse the belief that improvisation does not...

Le ricchezze degli avi: cultura materiale della società napoletana nel Settecento

Gaia Bruno
According to Carlo Ginzburg, culture is not only the scholars’ knowledge, but it is also made of all the mixture of a population attitudes, beliefs and behaviours. In this sense, objects are one of the culture’s main expressions. Using materiality as a key, the volume analyses the history of the Neapolitan society during the Eighteenth century in some of its multiple articulations: aristocracy, law men, middle class, lower class. The idea of defining the strata...

Four approaches leading to the age scale of the Young Island ice core

Dorothea Moser & Elizabeth Thomas
Young Island is a new ice core drilling site uniquely positioned to give insight into the (sub-)Antarctic climate. This dataset contains four preliminary dating approaches that lay the foundation for the age scale of the Young Island ice core presented in Moser et al. (2021). Funding was provided to SubICE by Ecole Polytechnique Federale de Lausanne, the Swiss Polar Institute, and Ferring Pharmaceuticals Inc (grant no. SubICE). ERT received core funding from NERC to the...

Interview with Noé Soulier by Susanne Franco

Noé Soulier & Susanne Franco
From his memories of taking ballet classes next to his sister at a younger age to being mesmerised by the dance with death between a bull and a bullfighter, and to the first performance of Merce Cunningham dance company that he ever saw, NOÉ SOULIER reflects on the memories that shaped his curiosity towards dance and choreography. Placing himself in the lineage of Western contemporary dance after the non-danse artists, he describes his approach to...

Integrated Water Vapor at the Thule High Arctic Atmospheric Observatory (THAAO_IWV)

Giovanni Muscari, Alcide Di Sarra, Tatiana Di Iorio, Daniela Meloni, Giandomenico Pace, Antonio Iaccarino, Filippo Calì Quaglia & Gianpaolo Sensale
Measurements of integrated water vapor (IWV or PWV) at the Thule High Arctic Atmospheric Observatory (THAAO) carried out by means of a microwave spectrometer (VESPA-22) designed and built at the INGV laboratories in Rome. Measurements start in July 2016 and are carried out every 20 to 40 minutes. VESPA-22 measures the sky opacity at 22 GHz by performing a sky scan (or tipping curve) and this observation is then converted into water vapor column contents....

Gridded estimates of daily and monthly areal rainfall for the United Kingdom (1890-2019) [CEH-GEAR]

M. Tanguy, H. Dixon, I. Prosdocimi, D.G. Morris & V.D.J. Keller
1 km gridded estimates of daily and monthly rainfall for Great-Britain and Northern Ireland (together with approximately 3000 km2 of catchment in the Republic of Ireland) from 1890 to 2019. The rainfall estimates are derived from the Met Office national database of observed precipitation. To derive the estimates, monthly and daily (when complete month available) precipitation totals from the UK rain gauge network are used. The natural neighbour interpolation methodology, including a normalisation step based...

Interview with Bienvenue Bazié by Sarah Andrieu

Bienvenue Bazié & Sarah Andrieu
In this interview, BIENVENUE BAZIÉ, a Burkinabe choreographer residing between France and Burkina Faso, looks back on his journey between different dance techniques, imaginaries and heritages. Originally trained in Labanotation, the encounter with the American choreographer Anna...

Interview with Molly Lieber and Eleanor Smith by Alessandra Nicifero

Molly Lieber, Eleanor Smith & Alessandra Nicifero
MOLLY LIEBER and ELEANOR SMITH share their first memories of studying dance and growing up before meeting in NYC. Their strong interest in improvisation, and their desire to develop a feminist value system, where forms of hierarchy are challenged and eliminated, are at the core of their experimental practice in creating choreographic works. The use of repetition and duration helps them distil and understand the content that first intuitively materializes in their bodies through their...

Upward Shortwave Irradiance at the Thule High Arctic Atmospheric Observatory (THAAO_USI)

Daniela Meloni, Alcide Di Sarra, Tatiana Di Iorio, Giandomenico Pace, Giovanni Muscari, Antonio Iaccarino & Filippo Calì Quaglia
Downward-looking radiometers have been installed on July 2016 to collect the upward component of the SW and LW irradiances. Eppley PSP pyranometer and PIR pyrgeometer are located about 100 m West of THAAO on a metal frame at about 2.3 m agl. Electronic levels monitor any possible deviation from the horizontal in the North-South and Est-West directions. See https://www.thuleatmos-it.it/instruments/radiometers for additional details. Radiometers are not ventilated. Data are recorded with a 30 second time step...
