Design of a VIS-NIR superachromatic triplet with five-color correction for a broadband interferometer
Qi Lu, Yifan Ding, Wei Wang, Shijie Liu & Min Xu
In general, π lenses with different materials can achieve at most (π+1)-color correction (πβ₯2). In this paper, a superachromat containing three lenses is designed to achieve five-color correction in the 600 - 1600 nm waveband, where the maximum chromatic focal shift is controlled within 1/100,000 of the focal length, achieving an almost unprecedented result. Conditions for lens power combination of three thin lenses in contact are firstly derived based on the Buchdahl dispersion equation, then...

Abstract Background Eosinophilic asthma is a common subtype of severe asthma with high morbidity and mortality. The cytokine IL-5 has been shown to be a key driver of the development and progression of disease. Although approved monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) targeting IL-5/IL-5R have shown good safety and efficacy, some patients have inadequate responses and frequent dosing results in medication nonadherence. Results We constructed a novel trivalent bispecific nanobody (Nb) consisting of 3 VHHs that bind to...

Single-photon emission computed tomography (SPECT)/computed tomography (CT) imaging of the gouty spine is rare. We describe a 66-year-old man who presented with pain and numbness in the right lower leg; he reported a 2-month history of intermittent low back pain. Imaging revealed neoplastic lesions of the spine, which were initially regarded as tumors. Thus, the patient underwent surgical removal of the lumbar lesion. However, the postoperative pathological diagnosis was gout spondylitis. In this report, we...

Abstract Background Most cancer disability-adjusted life year (DALY) studies worldwide have used broad, generic disability weights (DWs); however, differences exist among populations and types of cancers. Using breast cancer as example, this study aimed to estimate the population-level DALYs in females in China and the impact of screening as well as applying local DWs. Methods Using multisource data, a prevalence-based model was constructed. (1) Overall years lived with disability (YLDs) were estimated by using numbers...
TIMM8A is associated with dysfunction of immune cell in BRCA and UCEC for predicting anti-PD-L1 therapy efficacy
Xiaoyu Zhu, Zile Yuan, Sheng Cheng, Hongyi Wang, Yuxuan Liao, Dawei Zhou & Zhiqiang Wu
Abstract Background TIMM8A is a protein-coding gene located on the X chromosome. There is evidence that TIMM8A plays an important role in mitochondrial morphology and fission. Studies have shown that mitophagy and fission could affect the function of immune cells. However, there is currently no research on this geneβs role in cancer occurrence and progression. Methods TIMM8A expression was analyzed via the Tumor Immune Estimation Resource (TIMER) site and UALCAN database. We evaluated the influence...

We identified relapsing fever (RF) Borrelia in 1.45% (145/10426) of the ticks and 1.40% (40/2850) of the wild mammals in a field investigation in China. Three RF Borrelia species, including human-pathogenic Borrelia miyamotoi, Borrelia persica and unclassified Babesia sp. were determined. Main species determined from ticks was B. miyamotoi (44.14%), followed by the unclassified Borrelia sp. (42.76%), and Borrelia theileri (13.10%). In wild mammals, main species found was B. persica (57.50%), followed by the unclassified...

Abstract Background Biological age (BA) has been recognized as a more accurate indicator of aging than chronological age (CA). However, the current limitations include: insufficient attention to the incompleteness of medical data for constructing BA; Lack of machine learning-based BA (ML-BA) on the Chinese population; Neglect of the influence of model overfitting degree on the stability of the association results. Methods and results Based on the medical examination data of the Chinese population (45β90 years),...
