In November 2015 13 trenches were excavated across a proposed housing development at Ambrosden Court, Merton Road, Ambrosden, Oxfordshire centred on SP 6018 1911. Evidence was found for agricultural activity of late medieval to post-medieval date across the site in the form of field drainage furrows, ditches and drains. Evaluation was undertaken by Oxford Archaeology of a c. 0.35ha site located to the north of Northcourt Lane, Abingdon-on-Thames in Oxfordshire. Two 25 x 1.8m trenches were excavated. Two ditches dating to the medieval period (AD 900-1250) were identified.
