Sources of /sup 36/P were performed using the /sup 37/Cl(n,2p) /sup 36 /P reaction. The neutrons were generated by 70 MeV deuterons on a thick Be target. The /sup 36/P half-life was measured to be 5.9+or-0.4 sec. The observed gamma rays were postulated to depopulate levels in /sup 36/S at 3291 (2/sup +/) and 4193 (3/sup -/) keV. As accelerator magnets see the increase of their magnetic field and stored energy, quench protection becomes a critical part of the magnet design. Due to the complexity of the quench phenomenon interweaving magnetic, electrical and thermal analysis, the use of numerical codes is a key component of the process. In that respect, we propose here a review of several tools commonly used in the magnet design community.
